THE VISION OF A TEACHERI remember as a child growing up on Prune Hill. I spent my childhood in the deep woods behind our house, swinging from vine maples, running through lady ferns and playing hide and seek in the tall meadows. As an adult, I’m sad to see the expansive natural world around us disappearing to housing developments, industry, and shopping malls. I wanted to create a native garden as a natural place for kids to experience daily; a little slice of the beauty I experienced as a native daughter of this remarkable place.

WHAT YOU WILL SEE WHEN YOU ENTER THE NATIVE GARDENWhen you first step into the garden, it feels magical. You stop to smell the flowers and it seems like they are perfume! You look down at your feet and notice all the strawberries just starting to form. You walk farther in and you feel very calm. Maybe even a bit sleepy because the setting is so relaxing. When you step into the garden, I hope you feel the same way.
